Jónsi – Coachella
Jónsi is our generations Mozart. He has redefined his genre with Sigur Ros, and his solo project doesn’t disappoint. I love his new album and if you don’t have it yet. Go buy it.
Sigur Ros is one of my all time favorite bands, so I was super stoked to shoot this show. The “()” album is probably one of the greatest albums of all time.

Shooting Notes:
I think shooting during the day sucks. My style hinges a lot on having crazy lights and whatnot, and shooting in the day obviously takes that away. Although I loved shooting this one, it was not as fun because of the day time shoot. 
I used the 24-70 f/2.8 and the 70-200 f/2.8 on my D700.
Don’t be discouraged, you made the best out of the conditions you were faced with. I know exactly what you are talking about though, the lack of ‘dynamic’ lighting makes it a challenge for sure.
[...] time ago. I have havent had very much success shooting for him unfortunatly. When I shot for him at Coachella, it was in the day time. This time, it was being streamed on NPR, so it was a soundbooth only [...]
