Jay-Z – Coachella

What is there to say about Jay-Z other than that he is one of the few rappers that I have respect for. He is innovative and changes the game of rap in a genre where everything seems the same.

Jay-Z played on the main Coachella stage and it was an amazing performance, and a very cool addition to Coachella. It was pretty sweet to look out from the photo pit (with the other 200 photographers in the pit with me) and see 100,000 people doing his sign.

You can check out high res/get prints over at my smugmug.

Enjoy.

Shooting Notes:

It was a pretty rough shoot, there was around 200 photographers in the pit, and I have never experienced anything like that before. You basically couldn’t move at all and just had to deal with it. The opening shot is one of my top photos I have ever taken. I am very happy with the way these came out. I used the 24-70 f/2.8 and the 70-200 f/2.8 for the whole set at around 2000 iso to keep the shutter quick because he was moving a bunch.
